Default Quality of Engine Swaps?

i know that theres many questions asked about swaps.

but nothing that ive found really touched on this aspect..

ive been looking and trying to research doing an H22 swap into my 91 hatchback.

the only thing im really curious is about the quality of the engines that many jdm suppliers are selling...

does anyone recommend any particular companies that sell the complete set?

are these engines good to go straight from the shipping to the car..

is it advisable to get the engine rebuilt beforehand?

does anyone know what shop costs run for rebuilding the h22 (estimate)?

last but not least. if i chose to rebuild the h22. what would be some suggestive enhancements for the engine? forged rods/pistons etc? head/cam combinations?

im mainly concerned with understanding the quality of these engines and if it is safe to assume dropped 2k on an engine that i could actually use the engine as is?

thanks in advance for any information that you could provide

Default RE: Quality of Engine Swaps?

Any engine you recieve should be in boxes ready to be assembled.. if brand new.. assemble, swap, add nessesary fluids, and it should be ready for it's month or so break in.

Used engines.. if it was me.. i'd tear it down and inspect every inch of it to make sure that something isn't wrong. But that's me.[sm=smiley20.gif]
