Alright i have a 1997 CIVIC EX automatic. Everything under the hood is stock. How can i change this car to a manual? What size engine do i need? I am a 100% noob and i need help making it a manual. Help me out.

 

u dont need to change the engine, just change the tranny to a manual, and you also need to get a clutch, flywheel and alot of other minor stuff but those 2 things are the most expensive parts that you would need to do the swap. You could either get a manual ECU or just Change the iacv plug to a 2 wire and repin for the 3 -2 wire difference at the ecu plug. You will have a couple auto tranny sensor plugs left over that can either be left hanging lose or cut off.

hey man do you know how much those parts are? Like an estimated price. and i asked some other guy and he said that an automatic cant be changed that easily he said that those parts wont fit right in my car and ill need a new engine. Is that true? let me know man thanks.

 

that guy is retarted. no its not true. a manual swap is very popular among honda owners.

 

use ebay to your advantage, parst are pretty cheap, just know exactly what you need. Buy from reputable sellers and have fun with it man.

 

If u seem like the auto ecu is too hard to make it a manual by ****ing it and pin pointing them. Then just get a Manual ECU that fit your ex it's only like 150 or so for a new one
