you don't need powersteering, i would try to locate a non power rack and swap it. but removing the belt would be ok too i guess.

and a b18 is the same size as a b16, it will bolt up to the b series mounts from hasport. the only difference is they are a little taller due to the added displacement. and the b20 is taller yet. most b series stuff is interchangable, and you can put vtec heads on non vtec blocks with some planning and buying the ls/vtec kits, but in most peoples expiriance they tend to not last as long as a standard ls or vtec engine. but that could jhust be they people building them too.

vtec isn't even that great. that engine would be just as quick as the b16 in your car, it has a lot more torque. and with some bolt ons it would be just as good. and in the future if you wanted vtec you could swap on a vtec head and do an ls/vtec conversion.

should i take the guy up on his offer then? it's 600 bucks for all this "b18b1 block, b18b1 crank, 2 ls heads, 2 ls intake manifolds, 1 ls throttle body, 2 ls fuel rails with injectors, all nuts, bolts, bearings, hoses, sensors, mounts, brackets, pulleys, gears, and other odds and ends for the motor" and then it would probably be like 200 to ship the damn thing so 800 bucks total for this...
