^ They arent really that cheap. They are a very overrated motor. I have a b16a2 with an 18g turbo on it. Though it will hand the *** over to many cars on the street, a b18 with a b16 head under boost is a fat nasty combo that would rip the *** off many cars and send them home limping.

you've mistaken them for the first gen b16a (SiR I) 88-91
SiR II 92-95 have 170hp @ the flywheel

The B16's stroke is too short to do it any good imo. It's not a horrible motor, but the price wanted for it is unreasonable. It's the consumer's fault though, not the sellers. People throw their money at B16s without knowing the first thing about what they're buying.

i stand by what i say. sir's have 160 stock at the crank

look at the del sol s, b16a3 (SiR-III), its rated at 160 stock. look at the EM Si. b16a2 (SiR-II), rated at 160 stock. shut your mouths about what you dont know about.

and the b16b isnt even close to an SiR.

whao easy there....you're right, usdm b16's is rated @160hp to the flywheel. jdm version has 10 more hp. that's why on my post i put SiR II @170hp ("jdm") note the jdm there's no need to tell us to shut our mouths. you're a site moderator and you're supposed to set an example. you don't need to get mad. we still love you

JDM SiR's have no more factory-tested crank horsepower than USDM SiR's. when theyre on the road they will have more horsepower though. why? well 1) theyre the same power because when engines are tested for power, they dont include the exhausts and mufflers, etc...other things that will lower the power output, and 2) JDM SiR's may have more wheel horsepower than USDM SiR's, but its only because in japan they have less emissions testing, and therefore can get away with less-restrictive but more pollutant-prone exhausts...meaning that (at the wheels) JDM SiR powered cars are faster than USDM SiR powered cars....but its still a hell of a lot less than 170hp.
