Cleanig my engine bay help?
Well I want to clean my engine bay I hate the wires all over the place and all the relays with all the wires showing, so does any one have any Ideas to look a bit cleaner or any picks to help me, I have a D16 with power steering and a/c, Thanks.
Wait..... so do you want to just clean up the dirt.... or do you want to do a wire tuck? Completely different things.
Cleaning up dirt... you would buy some degreaser (Simple Green is the best IMO), cover your intake, distributor, battery, and any other electrical parts, spray the entire bay with Simple Green, let sit for about 5-10 minutes, then hose it off.
If you want to a wire tuck... prepare to start cutting and extending wires to "hide" them. If done right, it can look extremely good!

yeah all I have heard about wire tucks are they are extremely hard. Although once its done it will look super clean. Search wire tuck in google. I think i remember looking into this awhile back and honda tech had a few discussion about this.
I have a friend in process of doing a wire tuck on his 96 (not sure of the year for some reason) Altima. He started on 3/1/09 and expected everything to be done on or about 4/21/09. Well, needless to say, it's 6/15, and the car is no where near done. Yea, he did just finish the semester at college, but being off for almost 6 weeks since then and it's still not done. Here's a pic.

He obvious went a little over board, but while he was ripping everything out to do the wire tuck, he said "why not pull the motor, clean it up, and paint the engine bay!" lol The car has the motor back in and most all of it is ready, but the wiring for his interior is no where near done. Next time I see him, I have to remind myself to get updated pics.
