i got a 1998 Civ. HX with the D16Y5 VTEC-E 5 speed. i just bought a D16Z6 head with all internals including cam and valves, intake manifold, throttle body and intake, i got it for 200 bucks with 87,000 miles. Should i be able to put the D16Z6 head on the D16Y5? And if so will i need a new ECU and will i even benefit from this swap?

 

the head will fit fine.wiring should be fine too sincethere both vtec. but the hx is obd2 where the z6 is obd1. u will need a new ecu and conversion harness. u will notice a gain since the z6 is 127 hp and the hx is 117 and the z6 u will notice more with mods
