Default Engine is surging

I was away for a month, I came back and my engine doesn't sound good at all. When I start up the car the engine is ideling at 2000rpm. Also when ever I have my foot on the clutch the engine starts surging up to about 2200rpm and then back to 1000rpm. I've never had this happen does anyone have some advice, any help is appreciated.

Sounds like ur IAC sensor is spent, usually when those go the engine will keep surging, reving up down up down. Not sure how much they cost, but before buying a new one i'd go to a junk yard and try getting one off another honda that has fewer miles and try it, plus it'll save u quite a bit of money. I'm almost positive that's ur problem.

when this happened to me i took it into the shop and they found out it was just air bubbles in my coolant lines. drain ur coolant and refill it with the bleeder valve open.

yeah i took it to my mechanic and he cleaned off the sensors and some other stuff and it cleared up the problem, but he said if the problem comes back its the IAC sensor. you were right johnz826.. the part is about $300 so im hoping I dont need to replace it.
