Help Engine Overheating
Has you heater core been removed? If so, perform the procedure without turning the heat on. What Stiffler suggests is also worth a try.
Yea, I dont have a heater core. If you want to get technical I dont even have a Honda. I put the engine in a 63 austin mini.
Can someone explain how the fan switch works? I was under the impression that the engine controller turned the fan on and off, but as I read more about it I am not so sure. I know you can activate the fan by jumping the two terminals on the fan switch, so that tells me that the fan switch sensor must get to a certain temp before activation (internal to the switch). The reason I ask is I believe this control is my issue (might not be an issue). I noticed while driving yesterday that the fan didnt turn on until about 222 and as soon as the fan came on it brought the engine down to 210. I was able to check this out once I got home and while idling in my garage I was able to watch the engine go from 208 to 223 where the fan turned on and brought it back to 210.
Also, while we are talking about the fan switch sensor, if it is internally activating the fan, is there an aftermarket switch that would turn it on earlier?
