Default insulating fuel line

So I read somewhere that if you insulate your fuel lines you will get slightly better performance because it will keep them from getting hot. I also figured the same concept would apply to my short ram because it does heat up significantly.

has anyone ever tried this and noticed any results? would this heat resistant tape do the job or should I use something different.
