Default Swap

I think this is prolly a stupid question but im gonna ask it anyway. I have a 97 civic dx and i was wondering if i could put a prelude engine in it. Im curious as to what would be involved such as new tranny and things of that nature. Any advice or links on this or another engine of similar hp that would make a good swap would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Yep, as long as its newer than your car (legal reasons). I know that the H22A sits a lot lower than the stock motor in 1995, but not sure about a 97

Yup, it'll fit no problem (kind of... depending on what mounts you get you may or may not have to persuade some of the engine bay to move over to fit the engine lol).

You'll need swap-specific motor mounts and axles, and you'll need to wire up a few things. It's really not a hard swap from what I've seen and heard.

And as much as I love the h22, if you have the money to swing it, get a k20a or a k20a2. They make the same power (less torque) as the h22, come with 6-speed transmissions (the only complaint on the 6spd k-series tranny I've heard is the 3rd gear grind), and are easier to make power than h22s.
