got a letter from Honda re: Free 40 point inspection for my '99 Civic LX. My car has never set foot in a Honda facility since after the first oil change 6 years ago. I have only an intake as modification and audio set-up. Any suggestions if I should go? I do hear a strange mild noise on the engine from time to time but it's hard to duplicate the noise at times.

read the small print... but if everything sounds legit and is free then why not, cant hurt to get everything checked out. i suggest trying to be there while they do this so u know they dont f*** anything up on purpose or w/e.

 

bad idea ---there just trying to get you in there to suck some money out of your pockets----even if theres nothing wrong with your -- they will find something[:@]

 

Reason why I'm thinking of doing this is that I'll have them list down their recommendations, then list how much the cost so that I can have it done somewhere else.
I'm guessing if somebody should know anything about our cars it should be them with all their diagnostic tools and what not.
What do you guys think?

 

If it is free then go for it. They might tell you something that can prevint problems later on. Just keep in mind that they are doing it for a reason. They will be expecting you to pay for something so be prepared.
