its definatly your choice... i have a little y7 non vtec but its still faster than my y8 vtec due to the y7 being manual and the y8 being automatic.LOL

tho my y7 is in a 96dx coupe. main thing i miss is my power options but at least it has AC and ABS options. im working on adding the power locks...
i do miss the moonroof BUT its not that big of a deal.... just one less thing to posibly mess up.LOL

a mini me is basicaly the Y7 non vtec motor with a head from a Y8 Vtec swaped onto it and a Vtec computer and wiring for the Vtec added.
but IMO if you can find a running Y8 complete thats how i would go with a full motor swap and no need to mess with swaping heads and headgaskets and such...

i wouldnt mind a Y8 swap but i dont feel like paying that much for only 20HP. the second way i see it is the less HP you have the more MPG you could get

heres a DIY BUT the pictures are broken from the forum upgrade

sorry cannt find any current mini me swap threads with pictures sorry.....

if you swap the y8 intake manifold to your y7, that'll give you some gains too, but its basically like what addiction said, you get the infamous V-TAK!

I have a DX with a Y7/MT and an EX with a Y8/AT. I think the Y7 engine is fine without VTEC. It's just not an issue. The transmission is what makes the real difference to me. The Y7 MT is much more responsive and fun to drive.

slap a Y8 intake manifold and a Y8 5 speed transmission on it. Those are the first mods anyone should do to a Y7. Screw the mini-me. You can get a delta regrind Y7 cam for under $150 to make up for the power difference.

Actually the DX is the low end model.
The LX has power steering, cruise control, power locks, power windows just like the EX.
THe LX just doesn't have the sunroof and the engine might be different IDK.
