Default EG Swap Options

So yesterday I bought a '92 EG hatch for cheep off some kid. It has a bad ring on the #4 piston and he has no idea what to do with it so he sold it. The outside paint is a little rough but no rust. (the rear quarters have already been replace with patch panels) It has a d16z6 swapped in to it so I want to know if I should rebuild the z6 or try to find a y8 with tranny and all. I know the trannys on the y8's are better and have a little taller gear in third I think. than the z6's and the y8's make a little more power. What would have to change in order to swap to y8? obd2 to obd1 harness? Should I stay with the z6? Let's here some opinoins. :-) I plan on putting this in the project section once I figure out what I'm gonna do with it.

I wouldn't recommend swapping to a y8... it's a 3hp gain.

I say either rebuild and boost the z6 or swap to a b18c or an h22. As far as my personal preference/recommendations, I say h22 or bust.

I'd love a b18 but for the price, a b16 would be just as nice. Average about $1500 cheaper. Besides I could just buy a b16 block build it for boost and bolt a GSR trans on it and be good to go. I'f I go boost i'd want to go b-series. there is a dude on Craigslist here in Cincy, and he wants $900 for a b16 dropout. I don't know what the issues are with it but it has 130K on it and it's already obd1.
