well it doenst really go by the trim, it goes by the engine D, K, and B series all have alot a bit of aftermarket support, definitely. The 7th gens (w/ D17's) are the worst to work with if you're looking to make alot of power, from what i've heard they have the least amount of aftermarket support. A low mileage 6th gen or new 8th gen ftw if you are going to do some serious work (either re-building internally or F/I or a combination of the two)

. And make sure the Civic you buy is as close to stock as you can get it, you don't want a Civic that a teenager drove the crap out of thinking he was out of the Fast & Furious.
That is so true little teens think they are some Nascar racers giving there cars some hard love.
Yeah get your Car as stock as possible. I Would recommend you go with the Si 99-00 But Ex are also a good quality car. When I purchase My 2000 Si about 3 yrs ago it was Almost stock. The only modification it came with where some AEM Adjustable Cams. Got it with 43,245 miles. Got it for $8,000 cash out the door with all the title fee's and taxes. At that time when I was looking at the SI's there where ranging at the dealers from 14,000 to 17,000 Sure yeah right. I got my car from a PRIVATE PARTY I'm just the2nd owner andlove my car.

My friend just purchase a 99 Si from a dealer refinance for $12,000 with over 76,000 miles. I think that car was used for Racing. Came with DC headers, MSD ignition, AEM cold air intake, cat back exhaust, and it has a different tranny. I think it was a BAD DEAL[:'(]!!!!.

Best starter, is an EF hatch, it's cheap, and you can buy a complete b16 engine swap for about 1500
it will be pretty quick and it will only cost around 3k

hi a want to buy my first civicbut a dont know what one to go for any suggestions???????????
I'd look for a maintained '00 EX sedan from a rust-rare area. It'll generally be cheaper than an Si to buy, get better mileage than an Si, have VTEC unlike the lesser models, and probably have better options like PW/AC/cruise/sunroof. Accessing the backseat is MUCH easier than with a coupe or hatch, many roof-racks fit better, and handling is about the same. Boost one with good brakes, tires, and suspension and it could be more fun than a stock Si, especially on mtn passes, while still being an economical commuter with versatility.

Some people prefer the styling of the coupe or hatch, but not me. I think the sedan looks classier than a coupe or hatch, in a nice color, with modest 16s and some adjustable coilovers. If I want crazy fast, flashy, and outrageous...I'll buy a sportbike. They're cheaper than an economy car and embarass most super-exotic sportscars in performance/excitement. I'll save my money to live in a nice house, travel, and retire young.
