Default RE: New Speakers

i hate to be the nub but i just got my 99 civic EX and i have a pair of back speakers from my last car i would like to install in my civic. they are the 6 x 9 Sony Xplods and on my last car (acura integra) i was simple to install the back speakers (through the trunk) and im unsure of how to go about this on my civic. also, once i do install the speakers, would i want to leave the stock grill on or what? (its not too flashy but sound quality is priority)
thanks in advance!

well theres a DIY that I used and it basically walks u through the whole thing and helps a lot. You want to leave the stock grill cuz the xplod grills wont fit.. idk about a 99 but they didnt fit in my 98 and so i just kept the stock plus u would have to cut out the plastic grill covering the speakers, cuz u cant just leave ur back plastic panel out..

1. take out back seat
2. take out plastic side panels ..im pretty sure 10mm socket. i used i think 10mm and 12mm sockets a couple times so keep that handy (gotta take the bolt that holds the seat and the panel together)
3. take out rear plastic panel and detatch the brake light
4. lay ur seats down and unplug the stocks
5. pop stocks through the top
6. wire up the new xplods
7 put everything back

took me about an hour ish.. it was pretty straight forward

everything i marked in bold doesn't have to be done to install rear deck speakers

and the 99 and 98 models have the same rear deck considering that they are the same model (coupe, hatch, etc.)
