Default Preventing Rust

I'm happy to have a rust free car, and I've never lived in a state that uses salt before since I've been of driving age, so this will be my first salty winter comming up.

Besides constant washing (which can be pretty impractical in the winter) what can I do to keep the rust at bay? I plan on having this car a few years...

get your car rusted proofed..in about september when its still warm, try not to drive behind salt trucks, and after you get it rusted proofed, get a couple cans of rust check and spray areas that they wouldent of got with the oil spray like bolts, locks, underhood certian areas, inside gas cap..and such, did my car since i had it and it helps a bunch...oh ya, BTW last winter, i probably washed my car 2twice the hole time..its to darn cold to get a chance

you could get it rust proofed... it does help but my god does it make a mess of everything and. when they spray the rustproofing on ALL of the rubber seals that get covered will not fit back in if you remove them. i took out s light on my hatch the other day and imediately the ruber seal grew about 1/2 and inch when i took it out.i had to go to the junkyard and get another one[:'(]
