im new to the honda world. and i was wondering what would be the best way to have my fog lights color changed. not really down to spend 300$ for a new set so any tips.

To save gas, your starter and battery, park your car on a hill and roll start it. This can also kind of scare people who know nothing about cars.

 

Have your battery undergo equalization charge at least once a month. It makes your batteries life much longer and reduces load on the alternator and engine.

Whenever you leave your car for more than a week without starting, it would be good to attach a small external float charger on the battery. Keeps the battery healthy and fully charged once you get back to it.

Your car will run better on cold weather

 

A friend of mine here at work has been working on his 97 Civic. He dutifully replaced head, exhaust, intake manifold gaskets. The original head gasket showed no blown or compromised areas. Assembled, overheated in short order. Took the head to the shop and double-checked the flatness and pressure, checked good. The intake gasket, genuine Honda, looked like it had gotten wet between ports, it is cardboard. Bought a Fel-Pro intake gasket and reassembled again. It is a fix.

The 6th gen cars, according to Honda, have a 'leakproof' head gasket installed, they rarely if ever blow. All of you 6th gen overheaters, check/replace your intake gasket before digging into the head, it will probably be the fix.

Okay, attached is a picture of the recommended head gasket per the TSB. Note the bottom headgasket is a composite material whereas the upper is a metal sandwiched by another thinner metal on either side. Far better design. If you go to Honda they will sell you the old one! You have to request the new one 12251-P01-004. Don't install the old one! Mine blew in 15K miles.
