What a wonderful sound, haha.
On the 05 EX, your VTEC kicks in at 4500 rpms. Without at least an intake, it's almost impossible to hear the exact moment of changeover on a D17. If you drove an LX versus an EX back to back, you'd probabaly feel the difference in top end.

. Point is, it's not a big difference on your motor....get an intake or exhuast and you'll start to hear the difference if you listen hard!
