stop kidding this guy. used k20s are going for roughly for $4,000 - $5,000 alone.
add in the tranny, axles, ecus, aftermarket mounts, installation labor and all that other jazz, and he's already bought another car....

A 16y8 in an 01+ car will not pass inspection. Putting the engine in can be done, hell anything can be done with enough money. But good luck finding someone who will pass the emissions on that.

Danomatic93 yes the 01 civics are slow as hell. I raced my friends that has a lot more done to his motor and less miles than mine. I have a 94 4door civic (d16z6) and killed him by 3 cars. There very slow.
But yeah dude, i dont recommend you putting in a y8 either. You'd be better off changing out the ecu or sending it off to hondata and putting an aftermarket IM & TB and putting lots of bolts on (header,CAI, Cam Gear, Underdrive pulleys, exhaust, plugs, msd igition etc.), on your motor, then trying to fork out money on getting that y8 in and passing emissions.

Hondata doesn't chip OBDII, KMS is the only company that makes an aftermarket IM; not even sure if there is an aftermarket TB. Cam gear is pointless without headwork and a stage 2 cam. If you are looking at ignitions make sure they are DIS(distributorless ignition system).

7th gen D series have pretty much 0 aftermarket support
as to putting a 6th gen motor in a 7th gen car... not going to happen without a buttload of custom fabrication anyway, let alone the emissions
the best bet, is trying to find a k20 of some nature and doing the swap... either from a base rsx, or the 7th gen civic si
