People who read this thread.....

I had a guy come up to me and ask if I wanted to trade for an 01 IS300 pretty much. He liked the teg so much, he was (past tense, can't say that anything has changed since) willing to offer cash on his side of the trade, too. Not much, but cash is cash...

Specifics about the car:
2001 - 76k miles (legit), clean title from DE
Lowered, wheels, not the best in terms of paint, no exterior body damage, just the paint is chipping here and there.

Problem:
I immediately noticed that the CEL bulb was pulled. Found out that the car was AT to MT swapped and it still had the A/T ecu. Problem with that is that Lexus never made an MT 2001 IS300 and 02-05 had a different Pin out. I cannot get the car to legally pass PA emissions with this, and I refuse to ride around in a car with me ignoring CELs.

I would need to buy an 02-05 MT ecu, and make a conversion harness somehow. There is not one company who offers this, and there is one person on the IS300 boards who made one himself last year. I am talking with him to see if he can get me some info.

Any thoughts? If I am confident I can make the harness, I need to confirm that there are no other CELs on for other things (o2 sensors etc etc)

Cliffs:
I have a R title 220K Integra
He has a Clean title 76k Is300 and he wants to trade
Integra needs nothing, IS300 needs wiring work to complete an AT to MT swap.
This type of stuff is not as simple on Lexus/Toyota as a Honda from my research, so keep that in mind.
I would probably rock the Is300 around for a little bit, but then start looking to get into an RSX. Can't be away from Honda too long now can we?

If you're sure that you can handle the wiring (which I'm sure you can't cause your hands grow out of your rear end j/k <3 ya) I'd say get the IS300. It is safer and has more fun in it than the teg ever can get.

Sent you a PM you sack-less douche.

I am terrible with wiring unless it is 100% straightforward. Honestly, I don't understand how electricity works with the positive and ground and all that ****. Starting to understand it, but still a ways away from saying "I know what I am doing with wiring". Puts on flame suit.

The is would have a greater value so it's even something you could flip. Or just turbo it and get in the drift world.

Guy fell off the face of the planet. No worries. Knowing me, I would have gotten it and would have hated my decision due to the problems etc.

Moving along. Tried to show off my super m4d jdM fog lights/switch to a buddy last night, switch works and says the lights are on, but nothing up front. Bulbs are either blown, or a fuse may have died. Checking it out this weekend along with a few other little things.

Dude, I cant believe you considered the IS. Im as wishy washy as they come, but I have noticed through my various project cars that owning a Honda means you belong to a brotherhood, whereas owning a rwd import gets you a lot of "cattyness." Drift guys are douchy, stance guys are douchy, and I have found that I like being the underdog in the Honda. To each his own, and I wouldnt have judged you, but the best car I ever had was my db7. I sold it to buy my wife a TDI. Miss that car every single day. Super jealous of your sedan, and keep up the hard work.

Planned on selling the IS and getting a RSX type S within the next year or two. I don't give a fawk about "scenes". I don't attend local meets, nor do I care about anyone else on the road for the most part. For me, drifting is a waste of time, and stance is hella-gay. The IS has always looked good to me personally. The fact that the title was clean and mine isn't is a HUGE deal, especially when considering selling soon after.

It goes without saying that every car on the road would look good with a small drop and a nice wheel set-up. I am done with the "modding", so I couldn't care less. No money or time for it anymore.

Fixed the fog issue. Fuse blew. Wired up the citi lites and nothing happens when I flip the switch currently. Only had time to set-up a switch in the car, and run wires to the lights themselves in the engine bay. I will play with it again next weekend hopefully.

Gene sucks, too.

My Stang has an R title, and so did my s14. I totally feel your pain. IS isnt a bad looking car at all, but I do feel that they havent aged as well as your sedan. Theres a pretty decent aftermarket for the 2jz, but you wouldnt be satisfied until its boosted. Bye bye monies. Dont sweat the title man, it only matters if youre trying to sell it. I think your sedan is bad ****ing ***.

It would have never been boosted though. The teg is staying as is, so would any car get. I am done with all that sheit.

Problem with R title is that if someone else ****s up and slams into my car, I will not get **** for it since it is worth almost nothing to an insurance company. Bye bye monies. Always looking for the next best thing and how I can get there, and it won't happen with a R title late 90's Integra. I definitely like it more than the Civic, but if I can get into something more worthwhile, then I am going for it.
