My dad actually got an EG Painted and fixed up on update NY for about 800. I guess he found a good deal. The paint look nice, even though the job is not so great (The guy painted the rear mud guards, didn't paint the door jambs nor mirrors) Everything else looks great. They guy he got the deal from was complaining that he lost money on that job (and I guess thats why he didn't do his best).

Anyways, Im pretty sure that you will do a good job, look where you have gotten so far. Make sure there is no wind that can blow dust onto the fresh newly paint. I need to do some bodywork too on my rust bucket too..

BTW, Are you planning to put back that velocity stack set up you were doing before? Or it doesn't fit with the new H motor you have?
Are there real gains over regular short ram or CAI?

Thanks! Yea, wind is going to be the tough part. The driveway I work in currently is between my house and a big ol' church. The wind comes through pretty quickly even on a "calm" day. haha

As for the intake, I doubt I will be re-using it again. I might go for some sort of 3" intake set-up down the line, but I think I will just go with a 3" K&N filter. They actually makes filters which has a velocity stack basically built into it, too.

I'm really excited to see how painting your car with this stuff turns out. I'm pretty sure it'll look great, I'm more concerned with how long it will last. I'd love to get a couple cans to do my wheels...

I'm hoping to have a buddy of mine with a spray gun paint my car with cheap red paint. It won't be perfect, but it will certainly be a hell of a lot better than how it looks now....

Same!

Also, I am just going to rock the dented fender and fawked up hood for right now. The place I can get a cheap fender from is only open Mon-Fri, which is when I work. I should just save as much as possible until I get to the new place and then see where my finances are. I am sure I can afford a pair of fenders and a new hood using my B-day money!

Probably better to get both fenders replaced while I am at it. Passenger side is also starting to rust from the inside from when I rolled them. I wouldn't have time to re-cut the sidemarker holes either, so it is probably just better that I wait.

Paid for this paint set-up on Wednesday and haven't received anything from the company even confirming my order. Got my PayPal receipt so I know the money is gone.

E-mailed them today, and they replied "We have your order in our system and will be shipping it out by the middle of next week. We were backordered on our Black due to the high demand and at the same time we are changing our shipping procedures. We at DipYourCar are sorry for the delay!"

WTF does black paint have anything to do with my WHITE order? And if there are shipping delays, an expected processing time should be listed or I should be contacted after placing the order. I paid on Wednesday, and they have a 5 day processing time? WTF.

Lastly, WHY the hell do companies change major **** like this during a busy season? The company I work for did it right at the start of the busy season (2 months) ago, and I am still irritated about it. If you don't sell as much **** during a particular season, why not make all processing and w/e changes then so it affects less people? /rant

Got some work done in the past two days. Minor stuff but stuff none the less. MTF was drained and re-filled. Broke my VSS mounting "arm" because I made the bolt too tight. It is in there now, but semi-loosely. I will start shopping around for one of those soon.

Found a spark plug cover with no cracks or chips for cheap, too! It will just need to be re-sprayed silver. Ordering tonight.

Re-adjusted my fog light bezels since a buddy drove my car, bumped into the little curb thingy at the end of a parking spot, and bent the bracket behind the bumper.

Relocated the overflow container. Still need to find a bolt to use as a plug instead of just capping off the extra port that is on there. I believe the thread pitch is M12 x 1.0. Anyone know where I can find one? I have looked everywhere.

Relocated my AEM gauge back down near the cup holders. The two oil gauges I am using will be moved to the cluster bezel, the EGT gauge will be sold along with the triple gauge pillar. Any interested in buying a triple gauge pillar and/or an EGT gauge?

Used about a half can of clear coat on the diversion panel, too.

that sticker-bombed diversion panel looks great, especially after the clear coat. I've been thinking about bombing my hatch alot lately....

Tuck your washer fluid line. Buy 10 ft of hose for a few bucks, run it through the fender and I had mine re-enter the hood right at the hinge. Then just plumb it from the y to each nozzle keeping it inside the hood. It'll look a lot better and no more dangling hose.

^^ Haha I was WAITING for someone to say something about it. Kinda had a feeling last night when I posted it up. I will re-route all that when the new hood/fenders come around. I don't feel like messing with it right now at least.

About a week later and still nothing. I have sent two emails and still no reply from dipyourcar.com. I do not get how a company can change something essential like shipping, and then NOT be able to provide extra Customer Support. Instead, I am now receiving zero attention from the Customer Service team/Manager as well as my order just sitting there... waiting for this "new" shipping set-up. PayPal claim will be made in one week from today if I do not receive a tracking number. This is ridiculous. FL to PA should only be about 4 days, 7 full days total when including processing times etc. I have yet to even receive a tracking number. Ugh. I can't stand companies who have crappy Customer Service. At least with the company I work for, the CS is good since I am the CS Manager.

Nothing new with the car. I got it up to a stupid high speed while on an open highway the other night, which yes, was dumb, but oh well. No one was around, no chance of deer getting onto the part of highway I was on, and of course, no one else was in the car with me. Car still pulls when it is wayyy up in the rpms/speed. Me likey.

This weekend I planned to paint, but it doesn't look that will happen. I should at least be able to get the A/C block off re-stickered (some look like **** from the rain already), and clear coated. Nothing else is planned though. Got the little one this weekend, so I plan on spending some time with him since he will be gone next weekend (16-17th). I am the type of person/father that would prefer to be able to do my own thing for Father's day (at least right now). I am a father everyday of the year, let's make Father's day opposite where I don't have to worry about anything. Plus my B-day is the day after Father's Day, too!
