^^Check out my beach photoshoot! HDR shots and errrrthang!

I was fed up with waiting for a return E-mail from dipyourcar.com, so I called. After ringing about about 30 seconds, a rep answers, and asks to pupt me on hold. 5 minutes later still on hold, he comes back we talk for about 1 min and he finally gives me a tracking number. It was shipped out today. Ugh. Tuesday delivery. At least I got my tracking number so I don't have to worry about it anymore and I can start planning for paint for 6/16. Crossing fingers for next Saturday!

Nice looking photo shoot, cant wait to see it after the dip!
The car itself looks really good right now.
I need to take some good pictures of my car soon...

Spark plug cover came in Saturday! I quickly found some decent looking bolts and threw it on. It will be stripped, and probably painted to match the oil cap. Either that or silver. The H on the top which should be there was shaved off by the previous owner. Looks better IMO. There is already an H on the valve cover haha.

Ended up painting the cover to match the oil cap. Came out well, too.

Gave the car a bath as well. Pulled out the A/C block off, took it all apart, covered the rest of the bare aluminum w/ stickers on the inside as best as possible. Maybe 10-15 stickers shy. I'll will throw some on there later. I also clear coated the entire thing, so the stickers will not be affected by the rain now.

Picked up a wire wheel type thing to pull off the paint and some of the rust before the plasti-dip. Not sure how this is going to end up, I have never really done any body work before with the exception of simply replacing panels.

Valve cover looks really good, i like the black a lot more than the silver.

Still very anxious to see the paint job once it is done. I might just follow your foot steps and do a similar paint job if it turns out nice! Which i am sure it will.

^^Thanks! I might repaint it and the oil cap to a silver color to better match the bay later, but that will be one of those "quick, I need something to do with my car today since I am bored" projects.

Received the paint kit today. Missing the paint gun. I will remain positive and assume it is shipping separately. E-mail has already been sent to the Customer Service team about this.

I will seriously be pissed off if they forgot it and send it ground arriving next week. Everything is pretty much planned for the nice upcoming weekend so I can paint seeing as the package should have been 100% complete and received today. ugh. So glad this is the last thing I need to buy for the car. Vendors and manufacturers involving car parts are becoming a PITA to deal with.

Your tracking info should show if the shipment was 1 or 2 packages, except if it was sent usps.

Yea, 1 of 1 packages. I meant shipping separately meaning drop shipping from another warehouse, or from the manufacturer of the spray gun. We will see what happens. They have until 12 noon to reply to me and then I am calling them up.

Here goes another rant-fest.

So I pay for this damn kit 5/30-ish. About 2 weeks ago. I finally get the box in yesterday (13 days later) and no spray gun. Ok fine, I will contact them again (first few times were either unsuccessful, or me asking for tracking etc).

I get a hold of the CS guy there, and he tells me that the spray gun is on backorder until at least the end of this week. WHY THE **** DID YOU NOT TELL ME THIS LAST FRIDAY WHEN I SPOKE WITH YOU DIRECTLY ABOUT THE TRACKING? My guess is he knew and didn't want to **** me off, or lose a sale. I would have cancelled if I knew something was on back order.

I am so sick and ****ing tired of companies that just have no initiative whatsoever. At least if you order a part from Mishi, we will email you immediately if the product is on backorder and give you options. It is not hard to set-up an automated E-mail system.

Option #1 - Be a bitch, accept the back order, and wait. Problem is that this is the only weekend I have available to do this before moving.

Option #2 - Demand a refund of at least $100 for the inconveniences plus the spray gun, and buy a cheap $20 gun from Harbor Frieght. Not sure how well it would work so it would be a chance that it actually comes out nicely. Saving ~$70 this way.

Options #3 - Demand them to pick up the package, and return the entire thing for a complete refund. I would either say **** the car at this point, or buy a **** ton of spray cans and have at it. Saving about $200 through the process.

Someone help me decide today so I can move on. I can't think straight I am so angry about this CS bull****.

EDIT - I am not waiting. Called them up told them I would like the difference of the kit without the gun refunded to me ($100), or they can issue a pick up and have the items returned for a 100% refund. Their choice. I have been back and forth with them about this all day. Another update will happen once I get in touch with them again. I plan on calling for an update with their decision on how to move forward very soon.

Final EDIT on this subject - Called back ~5:30 and talked to the same rep. He asked me about the options I was giving them again and I demanded a resolution immediately since this nonsense has gone on for too long. They ended up giving me a refund for the gun. Went to HF and picked up a cheap air gun that received good reviews for like $15 (saved about $85 total after buying the gun ). My step-dad has a compressor he said he would let me use. We are all ready to go now!

Boo-yeah! gettin' **** done! I absolutely HATE dealing with terrible customer service. Still though, I'm really really pumped to see your car get sprayed with this stuff. I'd love to get a can or two for my wheels... just not sure on what color...
