And the reason why I wasn't worried about selling the previous header with the cheapo eBay exhaust wrap and steel ties on it.....

It hasn't been released yet to vendors etc etc, but I do know you can buy it off the website. I'll be doing a DIY on exhaust wrap for Mishimoto in order to promote the product. Since I'm not trying to get into trouble here (by promoting their stuff), I'll submit a DIY for HCF and remove all the Mishimoto references. I understand wrapping a header is fairly simple, but I wanna be able to say I did a DIY for here Eventually, I'll work my way up to addiction2bass/danomatic93 status with like 8-10 made a piece. LOL

I'll have my son until about 1:30 tomorrow afternoon, afterwards, I plan to go over to Sears and pick up an infrared thermometer.

The temp will be taken with the car idling for 20 mins (after being warmed up) to simulate sitting in traffic.

The temp will be taken after driving the car normally for 15 minutes to simulate daily driving.

And finally the temp will be taken after driving the car hard for 10 or so minutes to try and simulate track use.

These tests will all be done once with the stock header, then with the 4-1 header I got, then again with the 4-1 header wrapped. I'll also take screen shots of the datalog to show Intake temps and coolant temps.

It's 44* here right now and it feels like spring time when I step outside It's gonna be a high of 48* tomorrow. Perfect to messing around with the car. I plan on getting my alignment done on Sunday...lifetime alignment plan FTW!

Fun fun weekend. Hit no snags while working on her this weekend. Everything went smoothly. Got a new set of wiper blades on the car!

Did all the work/datalogs on Saturday from 3pm-7pm. The first datalog screen is what I usually look at, but my PC crashed shortly after starting this project and I didn't feel like going through and re-making that screen again.

I used a infrared thermometer in order to tell the temps of the exhaust port runners one inch from the head, and intake pipe closest to the header.

I would like to note, that the car was not moving when doing the 1600 rpms and the 3k rpms test. I simply set the idle on Hondata to either 1600rpms, and let it idle higher. For the 3k tests, I made sure that the TPS would read 5%.

I'll update this post with the runner temps and intake pipe temps as soon as I feel like getting the notebook out of my car Pics of it installed will come shortly.

That header is so shinyyyy, looks good. Cut it a little close on the wrap haha, and I haven't seen a header that went to 1 pipe so quick, most have the 4 runners carry under the car.

^ all 4-1 civic headers are like that it would just take too much space to do anything else.

Sweet.

I am planning on filling my stock mounts for stiffer, solid engine/torque mounts. Hoping to get the torque mounts done this weekend. I'll be saving up for a clutch/flywheel next, I need about $200 to get the clutch done.

When tax refund hits, I'll be able to get the car inspected, aligned, the intake system how I want it (fog bezels, velocity stack and a couple little adaptors etc), and finish the exhaust system (new test pipe, new gaskets and rubber hangers).

After that, meth. injection kit, here I come! I'm planning on getting the AEM kit. Hopefully, this will tie me over until I get the car painted.

BTW, speaking of car painting, I am still liking the idea of a gunmetal Civic...(something like this, but without the big lip, CF stuff, green wheels, and the hatch)

however.... I have been thinking.......

Yea.. that but in the form of a Civic, with bronze wheels.

Thoughts?
