Yeah thats what im thinking, It was in a college auto shop.
I stopped by autozone today but they didnt have any gages available. might go check again tomorrow or check Kragen.

But is my teacher right? Since the difference between my highest and lowest cylinder isint much of a difference, i should be fine boosting low for a while?
Or does he just want to see me with a blown engine within a few days...LOL
after all... he is an auto ELECTRICITY teacher.. lol

Usually as long as they are pretty even across they are okay, one pistons being a lot lower will be a red flag. At this point I'd say they are gonig to be okay, and to run small boost you are fine. I know people who have slapped a turbo on their z6 with 200k+ miles on it and it holds fine, just don't go insane with the boost. That's my plan for now... 200 hp turbo d and next winter pull it out again and build the bottom end for 300 hp.

Thanks for the input scott.
Yeah thats my plans for now. Running low boost and staying <200hp. Getting all the kinks worked out, and then building my bottom end and pushing it more next summer. Im hoping i can find another block on the side and build that and then just swap it in once its built.

Dam i really want to get my exhaust done so that i can start putting it all together.
Hopefully weather is nicer next weekend..

I love boosted D's, B series is so over played. Sleeper D's is where it is at, 300 hp D16 would be so fast it'd be amazing...just like any other boosted fwd though traction is the problem lol, so traction bars will be in my future as well. And the fact that D's are so cheap since everything thinks they are trash makes it so easy to just replace one atfer you blow it up lol!

And I hate WI, we were high 40s all week, melted the snow from when we had 20 inches like 2 weeks ago, and then today winter decided to come back and give us snow again.

Yeah man it should be fun!
Thats exactly why i decided to stay with a D lol
Super cheap. and they come and go all the time.
Over here D's are pretty under-rated...Almost everyone goes B around here.

And yeah man weather sucks here too. One day it can be 70 degrees, and the next day you could be in snow 8 inches deep.

120 is low. I would not boost on numbers like that personally. put in the extra effort, to build something you can be proud of, and know it is going to not blow in a week.

Throw a can of Restore in and check again. Mine stays at 200 across the board with it.

Yesterday i was able to do another compression test in class.
This time i got Higher numbers.
~Engine Cold~

Cylinder #1---- 150
Cylinder #2---- 150
Cylinder #3---- 145
Cylinder #4---- 150

I let it crank 4 times in every cylinder.

BUT i also noticed that if i kept cranking it, the number would rise. I let it crank 6 times (in the last cylinder) and it got to 160psi. But then decided to retest it cranking only 4 times.

Every cylinder held pressure fine. (no sudden loss of pressure)
So i think it tested out with pretty good results. should hold together for a while.

BTW, are cans of "Restore" safe to use on boosted engines?
