Your packages should be arriving today finally. I hope to see some updates.

The console box arrived today. The box was destroyed. Almost none of the tape was holding it together.

But the contents were safe. Looks like there were a total of 4 pieces?

oh my goodness. yes, there should be : lower console, upper, cupholder (part of the lower console), metal support bracket, and the cig lighter faceplate thing. that must have been the package that got thrown between cities. >.<

I really hope the trunk lid isn't trashed.

UPS is completely freakin' worthless, from my experience.

Hey man, I've been ok. The car has been better, but it's still going with a fresh engine and a ****ty paint job.

Coming soon: Acura 1.6 EL lower console. (It's in paint right now so it'll match the rest of the interior. Sadly there's no easy way to obtain a Type K sedan interior in the US.)

[edit]

Ugh. So, it's a direct swap into a 96-98 Civic, but NOT into a 99-00 Civic if you want to use the extra DIN slot for audio.

Stock Civic console:

My CD player is hanging loose in there right now. There is an extra bracket to mount the cd player on but on the 99-00 Civic, the core support for the upper console is different. They tack welded a bracket over the holes that this extra audio bracket would have mounted on to. The extra bracket for the 99-00 upper console is to accommodate those 4 bolts that actually hold the console in.

I should have taken pics of the process so that the people of the internet would have a true walkthrough, but meh. It's truly a straight forward process except for that bracket. Not sure what to do now. Mod the core support so I can use those holes, swap back to the stock Civic one, etc.

Oh, and my auto tragic shifter has never looked worse, lol. I have an Integra GSR shift boot that I'm tempted to put on there to hide it. (shut up, I know, silly ricer and all that. whatever.)
