Celeste is being a cranky old b!tch today. I tried to remove the aftermarket header/cat thing I put in there for the new engine (since it's throwing a CEL, saying the cat is bad...) but it wouldn't come loose. Those 3 nuts on the bottom flange that hold the cat to the down pipe would not let go. I accidentally ended up breaking off one of the bolts that holds the header to the cat so now the thing is all gimpy and held on by 3 bolts. And its leaking exhaust gasses as bad as the stock one that was cracked down the middle. I was actually trying to put the cracked one back on because at least it didn't throw a CEL.

So... Exhaust is now a priority. My header is junk, my cat throws a CEL, my muffler has rusted away, my car generally stinks like hydrogen sulfide gas and sounds loud as hell due to basically not having a muffler.

Sigh. It's only money...

Yeeeeaaahhhh..... my exhaust HAS to go. The muffler pipe finished breaking so the muffler is just hanging there now. It already sounded loud because of the y8 intake mani and the SRI... but now, damn.

I need to find a cheapish exhaust replacement (would like the cat back portion to be a WS2) that will not throw a CEL. I'm tired throwing a CEL and having an obnoxiously loud exhaust. I know I could be getting better MPG's and am not due to the CEL and the fart cannon attracts too much attention.

Still waiting on my tax return...

What are your plans? see how long the patch holds? I know how it can be when you're low on funds...

I yank the ECU fuse every other day to reset the computer and just rock it as-is. Thats what you do when your ****'s broken and you're broke.

if i had the money, i would have gotten an oem Integra Type R axleback. 200 from dealer, 2.25'' inlet and outlet with better internal routing than a regular civic muffler. It is also a direct fit bolt on to a 6th gen civic except it will fall about 5 inches short of the tip of your stock exhaust. throw that on with some 200 dollar ebay 2.25'' catback piping, a high flow cat with defouler for 125ish, and a 50 dollar ebay header, and you have a pretty nice set up for under 600. sorry to babble on your thread, just throwing out an option.

I'd throw something cheap together to make it work, but I wanna get it together in a way that'll last. ebay headers are hit and miss. I've heard of some that lasted 50K miles with no cracks, and then some that lasted just 50 miles before cracking...

if your interested, ive had mine for about 15,000 miles. it was from AMK racing. I got it on ebay, but they had an actual website too: AMKracing.com. fitment was great and no cracks yet. when i bought it I payed 50 but they have raised their prices since then.
*after checking, their ebay store no longer exists and their website is temporarily down for maintenance
