Valve lash is set! Huge difference in engine sound and power! She's ready for the open road now. I'll just deal with the crappy throttle response for now.

yeah, the y8 cable should come out of the fire wall, head to a new bracket not found on the y7 over near the strut, then turn directly left toward the bracket on top of the IM. shouldnt come anywhere near the old bracket on the valve cover.

Congrats on setting the valve lash! I still have to learn how to do that. I just got some tappet gauges and watched a few youtube videos. It doesn't look hard, just tedious.

That's right. It's not hard, just tedious. Took us 45 minutes. Shouldn't have taken that long but it did.

I ordered a new throttle cable from the stealership. It'll be here tomorrow. Now I have to find that bracket for the strut tower, I guess. I need a picture so I can see what I'm looking for.

looks like this. Imageshack - image0031.jpg

looks like you replace the bracket that holds the y7 cruise control cable with a 2 slotted one that holds cruise and throttle cable.

Don't need brackets! Just loop the cable around, mines kinda tucked away under the master area. There's really no big need for the bracket, but coming from me who tucked everything and removed every bracket or whatever that held something, it sits fine on it's own and won't hit anything.

I think my transmission is overfilled. How bad is that?

The engine sort of falls on its face, power wise, when at an intersection. It shifts strangely. Like, when the old engine would get up to a certain RPM range, the transmission would shift up to the next gear. Now it doesn't.

This will solve some problems. y8 throttle cable! I didn't have the bracket so I attached it to the cruise control bracket and just let that cable connect by the brake booster hose on that other bracket thing.

Now I need to drain some transmission fluid and fix the intake and I'm set.

Side note: The parts manager at the local dealership is HAWT. I want to go buy parts from her every day.
