Hobo's 2000 LX daily driver
I was glancing through the HCF for sale section and noticed SPLAT's Acura RL for sale. He had lots of interior pics so I glanced through the whole thing. (Sorry I can't afford it. Nice car.)
It gave me some more ideas for the interior. I like the black leather, black interior luxury look. I also kind of like the wood center console look. Anyone ever seen that on a Civic? I know they sell all kinds of kits on ebay. Some are just stickers but some are actually quality products that look factory. There is a seller with some of those on clearance. Here is an example of a, IMO, higher quality one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Wood-...1%7C240%3A1318
Thoughts?
And, my leather seats are on the way. The guys at the shop have the donor car in the bay and will be stripping it down by tomorrow.

Two more major parts of the buildup are in motion. I ordered tires for the Civic Si rims. They'll be in by the end of the week. (hopefully.) Also, I picked up most of the leather for the leather interior swap. All I'll need now are door panel leathers, which will likely have to be custom.

These things are NASTY so I'll be doing some hardcore cleaning soon. The arm rest piece is pretty much the same as the Civic piece. It could swap in but I'm only gonna put the armrest cover in my civic. The Teg console will go in the trash.
The rear seat back is one piece, not the 50/50 split I thought it was. This likely means it will fit much more easily than I thought. I'll still have to mod the seat but not nearly as much as I thought. The bottom looks to be the perfect drop in swap I read it was, and the side bolster panels also look like a direct swap.
The front seats will require a swap of the inner rails but otherwise will fit in directly. They need soap bad.
I got all that for $175. The seats are not mint and will require a lot of TLC to recondition the leather. But before I even try to recondition, they'll go through a hell of acetone and dye to become the black color they need to be. I'll also have to repair a couple of cuts and rips, but that's no biggie I hope. It's nice to be forced to learn how to do all this stuff for the sake of a project.

It seems that my passenger side "airbag" isn't actually an airbag. It moves WAAAAY too easily to be real. I know that the car has been wrecked 4 times, one of those being a total from the FRONT... so it's probably one of those fake covers.
Shady.
I wonder what else I'll find when I strip the interior?
[edit] Oh, and Si rims TOMORROW. TO-MORROW. Woot.

well pop the glove box and look under the air bag. you should be able to see it under there. that top cover does move a bit since its held in my some metal tabs i think.
just because the cars been wrecked several times doesnt mean the bags have been replaced or not.... you seen my wreck and my bags never went off. its gotta hit those sensors just right.

Crazy day. Got to the shop around 9 this morning, dropped the rims off for tires. Got the tires mounted. 3 out of 4 tires have all the weights on the inside. One had to have a little weight on the outside.... so its on the right rear. While I was there, we found that my prop valve was leaking from two of the line fittings right off the valve. We had to bleed the brakes 3 times, adjusting stuff every time, to make sure there were no more leaks. I may have to get a new prop valve. If I do, I'm gonna go ahead and get the bigger master cylinder too. Anyways, to the pics. And no, I didn't even bother washing the car. Too tired to.
The recommended tires for these rims are 195/55/R15. These are a bit bigger. The tires are Kumho Ecseta AST all season touring tires, 205/50R15.

And, the one little weight on the outside. Damn it.

I am much happier with the ride. Quieter, smoother. With this, my exterior is complete (save for some peeling paint, oh well).
