Hobo's 2000 LX daily driver
The mats are niiiice. I drove without sandles on to get that new car feel on my feet!
Had to put that mat anchor in, no biggie. Took 2 minutes. (I just gutted, cleaned, and reinstalled the interior. See how fast it gets dirty?

I'm totally glad I did that. Cuts down on the purple factor.

I'm diggin' the new mats. I need new ones as my stocks have holes where my heels rest and I have some cheapo pep boys ones in there now.
You crazy homie. COD5 is like the unwanted stepchild who's always in and out of jail. No one talks about him/her/it and tries to just forget he/she/it was ever around to begin with. lol j/k

Since I have an (alleged) bottom end knock (I say alleged because *I* know it's a knock I hear and I *KNOW* its on the bottom end, but my mechanic doesn't agree) and because I'm burning oil, I was also curious as to what the compression looked like since I also know the kid who had the car before me was a ricer. I wanted to know what shape the engine was in.
Results were 200-185-200-200, but he thinks he didn't rev long enough on cylinder 2 so it probably would have been 200 as well. I did not expect the engine to be in that good shape at 114K. I was actually hoping for bad numbers so I could persuade myself to swap for that LS engine.
Looks like I'm gonna have to have the valve seals replaced at some point. It seems worth it now.
I told Daniel and Nick about the bottom end knock. They were skeptical. It knocks BAD on cold start and then it goes away. Apparently, "true knocks" don't go away. They think it's valve train noise but I totally don't agree. I had the valves adjusted already. And since it was already warmed up when I got there, they couldn't hear it for themselves. So, meh. Also, looks like I need new plugs! I'd swear I'd replaced mine not too long ago.

^^ Post up a video of the knock if you think we would be able to hear it through a video.
Those compression numbers are extremely good for a motor with 114k. I don't even mention my compression numbers b/c of a certain bastard cylinder (exhaust valve). lol
How much are those valve seals going to cost you? You installing them yourself? I just ordered new valves for my d16, and wondered if I should have gotten the seals, too. I would have, but my buddy says it isn't 100% necessary and my budget is against it. haha.

And I dunno about valve seals. I have never done them before, never wanted to do them, dunno if I have the time to do them, etc.
I hear ya on not wanting to do that type of work. I have to do the same sort of thing. If you are planning on getting an LS soon, I would just run the d16 until it dies, or until you get that LS motor.
Project has been on hold for awhile. I had to diagnose a blinker problem today. Turns out the bulb is a little broken. Running lights work, just no blinker. This means the LED conversion is gonna be coming up soon.
Ok. LED turn signals are done. Had to use pliers to break the plastic wall off from around the flasher relay socket (no big deal AT ALL), swapped relays, swapped all 4 turn signal bulbs, and swapped my license plate lights to LEDs too. Simple, mostly painless.
Hopefully this link will send you to the video of the results.
