Finally have saved enough for the motor. Gonna try and pick it up as soon as I can. There is no way I could fit it in my car with how low it is. Should be soon here this weekend or early next week.

Been a while. Some stuff happened.

First, the friend who had the ls saved for me, sold it to someone about a week before I was gonna buy it.

Second, about 3 weeks ago a friend at work backed into the passenger headlight area on the car. Damaging the headlight, hood and messed up the paint on the bumper. Went through insurance, got an $1800 check for it.

As I was thinking about which route to go in fixing it (Only cosmetic damage, nothing behind was bent luckly) I got backed into AGAIN.

This time in the driver door and quarter panel. As of right now I'm waiting for a call from their insurance. My dad recommended me to a place to have it fixed and the guy quoted me at $2000 for fixing it all and re-spraying the car white.

In the meantime I bought EG2 SiR Headlights, extended tophats and some spacers for the front wheels. HID's are on the way.

After all that I began thinking about a swap. My original plan is to go LS. But then again, I feel like I'll just get bored of it. I want something that I'll really like. I read the Honda Tuning Magazine article "K-Swap for Less" like a million times and I have full confidence that I can do one.

I was originally looking for a K24 motor and tranny but after talking to Hybrid Racing I found out that no one has come up with a mounting system for the K24 shifter box to be able to keep your stock center console. It was one of the overlooked things in the article, considering the whole point was to save as much money as possible.
I looked on ebay and craigslist a ton and somehow came across a K20a2 with 26k miles only like 10 min from my house. I would buy the whole swap but it has an auto tranny so I'm gonna snag the motor and harness. The guy only wants $900!!!!! That's insane. I also already bought a charge harness the other day on ebay.

So, in conclusion, I'm going K series. I know, it's gonna be expensive but since I'm profiting so much off the two accidents, I want to do something big. No one even near me has a K swap.

Nice! This will be sick! K swaps aren't rare by me at all lol. Guy I know has a yellow ek hatch with a fully built k24/k20 all motor, like 13:1 comp and stage 3 cams, insanely fast.

I guess if I maybe lived South of Seattle instead of North, I would see more in depth Hondas. Around me, everyone cuts springs, has a stock motor and think spending $50 on an eBay version of a MaD Tyte JDM part is a "sick" upgrade lol.

If I opened my hood after this swap next to anyone I live near they would probably want my autograph lol.

In all seriousness I'm gonna do it. I will be able to take a couple days off work and have a solid 3-4 days to get it done. One day for pulling the old motor and doing the couple modifications needed for the engine bay. Second day for getting the mount brackets in and putting the motor in. Part of the second and third day would be wiring and all the other fun things involved. Fourth day would be troubleshooting.

I've read a million pages and articles on the swap and have contacted Hybrid Racing about any questions I have. Shouldnt be a problem.

He likes to make dumb comments. If he gets stupid, he's gone. That one seemed like a friendly enough jab, since no one around here seems to be able to finish a project without pulling a "Reaper" and changing their mind every week.

Thanks Hobo.
Yeah i'm guilty of the "reaper" effect. I either change my mind or my car gets stolen/backed into before I can get a motor in the car.

Should be picking the motor up this weekend. The guy keeps in touch well and I'm 100% certain I wanna do it.

Actually, I'm just gonna use the RSX ECU for now with a K-swap Immobilizer kit so it can run. I don't plan on doing any modifications to the motor since its pretty powerful stock and expensive. I won't need a KPro unless I want to tune. I'd rather use that $1k on swapping it in lol.
