Well I don't have my paypal through a bank account so I can't be sent money... maybe I'll throw up a lil diy on shaving them? It is pretty straight forward but I guess it would help a little bit. I'm going to shave my y8 I think and paint it black with Honda emblems all over it in like lime green. It is just using a flap sanding disc since they can sand aluminum and not going too deep, then I use a pneumatic sander to get it flat.

I got the d15 all sandblasted up, this one is niceeeee. I've got a guy wanting me to do his f23 vc too. Business

Just needs to be washed/ran through parts cleaner a few more times to get all the sand out and it is ready for paint!

Damn. I will stop asking now. Looks like I have to go buy an angle grinder for this one.

I have the decision making skills of a woman. I'm starting to think I'm not going to go boost and I'm going to do a swap instead. I really want to do an lsv, they're beasty as hell, faster than a gsr, and should cost about the same as a gsr after tuning and stuff. Also I don't have to do it all at once, ls swap first and buy the convesion stuff after.

So here's my question... seeing as I still have emissions I have to have an obd2 motor. I'd have the car tuned but throw the stock ecu in for emissions. Now it is cheaper to buy an obd1 ls shortblock... but the emissions is the thing. I'm pretty sure that there is no difference between obd1/obd2 block, correct? I just need an obd2 b16/gsr head to pass emissions? If I can just get an obd1 block it'll be cheap, and then down the line have the obd2 head for emissions? I just want to make sure the combo will work or if I have to buy all obd2 stuff. I'd want to get a b16/gsr tranny too, ls tranny is too long for n/a lsv.

Wow so my friend traded cars with his friend for a few days. He got their gsr swapped ek coupe and they're driving his lifted Ranger. He had a gsr eg hatch before, never rode in it with him though since he didn't have it long... got in too much trouble and had to sell it. So today he gave me a ride in the gsr... OMG. I'm in love haha, that was such a fast *** car. That thing got from 0-100 like nothing! Pushed you in the seat every shift, you could just feel the power. The vtec was awesome too, could just hear the power. So forget boost, I'm going b series. I don't think I'm going to do lsv, at least with this car. It'd be a lot of work to convert it to lsv and it'd be a b!tch to do it with the ls in the car, even taking it out, I don't want to be carless too long unless I pick up another Civic this summer/next year. And I want all the power and vtec right away haha, so either I'm going to go b16 or gsr. Going to keep stashin my money away for the swap. Now I Have to choose whether I want to drop money on rims or keep saving for the engine. Eek!

save for the swap imo. This kinda reminds me, i was at the skatepark the other day and saw this nissan...completely stock looking, i pulled around to the other side of it and there it was...front mount intercooler. Sleepers are soooooo F***** siiiick.

135 whp/105 wtq = B16
150whp/115 wtq = GSR

These numbers are estimated whp number for a stock B16/GSR.

Let's take Greddy's turbo set-up. Extremely simple/cheap, basically a bare bones kit for now.

Boosted D series on a small TD04 Greddy turbo @ 10 psi - 225whp/200wtq

And we will take my set-up as an example, too.

Supercharged D series (M45 Blower = Small), meth injected @ 7 psi - 170whp/150wtq

Enjoy getting spanked. LOL

However, in your defense, I was the same way about 2 years ago. One day I was on a D series turbo process, then I was like F that, I want a swap. I was set on a H swap, found out it was not in my price range, so I wanted a GSR swap. Two weeks later, I am buying turbo parts to turbo the D16. 2 months later, I sell all of the turbo parts and get a supercharger. Go figure.

Have fun with whatever you end up doing.

If you do end up going B series, skip the B16 and just go with a GSR B18c1.

Well I'll be driving to school everyday next year, 25 miles each way on the freeway. Goign to be a mechanic so it is all day school and rush hour fun. I want to keep the reliability up so an oem swap is pretty much my best bet. And the gsr would be an awesome start. I was really impressed with the speed the coupe had though. But like I said, I make decisions like a woman. I'll probably end up changing back to turbo or buying another Civic, who knows. But at this point I want a swap.

And b16 vs gsr. Is the gsr better in pretty much every way except price? B16s just seem to be more common....

There's a guy that'll sell me his Skunk2 short shifter for $50, says he has used it for 8k miles. What is the life of the bearings on the short shifters? Much longer than 8k miles I hope... obviously I can spin it and check it out but I am just wondering on how long they can be expected to survive. I'd expect them to outlas the car...
