Scott's Ek Build: Shaved and Tucked
Same here, seized on 2 of 3 Civics I've had. Haven't tried removing my bolts on the hatch yet, but since the suspension is only about 10k miles old, I doubt they will be bad to replace. I used a Butane torch of my work truck.
So cv you are saying that if the head snaps, I can just heat it up and get it out through the other side? Isn't the nut welded on the shock? And wouldn't I just vice grip the whole thing out of the inside of the bushing? And getting the bolt that how would fadoodle my bushing... eekers.

But is it really this difficult to remove bolts? Honda must have bolted them on hella welll then huh? hahaha but does this always happen when u change your suspension?
Hx rims are all 14", but Vx rims look just like the Hx but only came in 13". My friends Dr-29s are bronze, which I want bright gold so I'd paint them, or see if my friends dad can powdercoat for me.
And the bolts on suspension suck because they are the most weathered. They get constant water in rain and packed on snow and WI winters will rust a car quick, all the salt, ugh. The bolts just get rusted/siezed on.

I am not sure what you mean by using a vice grip since you wouldn't be able to "push" the bolt out. The bolt goes through the bottom of the strut assembly, which has a nut welded onto the back of it.
If the bolt seizes to the bushing, the bushing needs to be replaced. No ifs, ands, or buts about it.
Well I'm saying I cam break the welds on the nut and try and pull the whole bolt through. I hope the bushing doesn't get f'ed, I'd have to take the whole LCA off if I wanted new ones pressed in, which the other bolts would probably break, and have to order aftermarket ones. I don't feel like buying any, even though Blox are only $100 (I know the bushings aren't polyurethane, I don't care). If the LCA is messed I'll just order Blox LCA with next day shipping. I'll be sprayin PB on everyday, and my friend has some industrial crap that he gets from a guy with a shop he knows, so hopefully it'll help. And I plan on trying to use the impact first, less prone to breaking the bolt using it.

But that makes sense tho the whole weathering stuff. I shouldnt have to worry about that seeing as my car has been in Texas basically all of its life. So yay for a lucky me!
