I will have a job at Acura as soon as they are past their hiring freeze, and he says it'll probably be about 2-3 weeks when I find out. I will start out on the lube rack, woo.

I've made some good progress the past few days, new ctr front and rear lips are on and I'm almost done with my carbon fiber center console lid. I bought a carbon fiber kit thing off ebay and am doing the lid, it looks pretty sweet. Tomorrow I have to sand it and it get it nice and glossy. BTW don't buy those kits. I found a company on ebay where it is $35 for their epoxy resin (Max clr-hp), and it is a 24 oz total. I paid $40 for the kit, and you get 3 oz of resin and like 12"x50" sheet of carbon fiber. Carbon fiber sheets are usually like $25 for every 36"x50". So for $60 you can get a lot of carbon fiber and a TON of resin. I am probably going to wrap my door panel inserts. The black fabric I did is faded to purple, the center console was terriblely worn and wouldn't believe it used to be black. So my lid and inserts will be carbon fiber, it'll look hot. The carbon fiber is real easy to do too, I just wanted to learn how to do it. I'm obviously not making REAL carbon fiber pieces, but I consider skinning them with REAL carbon fiber instead of a cheap vinyl to be a lot better.

I'm contemplating selling my carbon fiber trunk. It's cool and all but it isn't really that noticeable, and the money from it will pay for most of the price of a nice set of Rota's off craigs. And I have the money to get all my bumpers and lips and skirts painted, I just need to go in now with my dad for the discount quote. I want a new OEM front bumper, mine right now fits terribly. What do you guys think about keeping the trunk? I'd probably get an si/99-00 spoiler for my stock trunk if I sell the Seibon.

I'll have the lid done today, just needs to be sanded. I'm probably going to order big bottle of the resin and probably a yard of carbon fiber for the inserts. I'll paint the button and little holder thing in the middle of the insert black.

Just about done with the carbon fiber lid. I need to make it glossier still. In the pictures it look sperfect, but in person it isn't that clear. For my first carbon fiber thing it isn't that bad. It has its share of imperfections, mainly because I didn't sand enough before epoxy layers and the tight corners are a little ugly. But overall it came out decent. I I WILL be doing the door inserts. Probably starting the passenger side tomorrow. I had to order more resin, bought 24 oz worth so it'll last me a long time, and I bought a 36"x50" sheet of carbon fiber. Those should be here in a week or so, and then I'll have enough to do the driver side insert. Now that I know what I am doing these will turn out a lot better than the lid. Here's pics of the lid, like I Said, in the pics with flash it looks super glossy.

Yea I have no problem with you tryin out carbon fiber stuff. I like tryin stuff and I wanted to learn how to carbon fiber so I went for it. It isn't very hard, at least what I did. All I'm doing is skinning, so it is only one layer of carbon fiber for looks. Molding stuff would be hard and I'm not going around saying I have real carbon fiber stuff, it just looks sweet and is 10x better than the cheap vinyl stickers.

Here's a realllllly good video on how to do it:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6rTWaV1imzs
Here's good resin that I bought, and it is a lot of resin that'll last lots of projects:

And here's carbon fiber fabric:

It's not hard at all, I'm doing the door inserts next. It'll look sick once it is done. Buy the resin and sheets the way I posted, not worth the started kits. You get like 3 oz of resin and I got a 12x50" sheet of fiber, won't get you super far and you'll probably run out of resin. Let me know if you have any questions.
