A guy on hondatech makes and sells them for $59 shipped. Nice item but he sucks for responding, took a week almost for him to confirm he got my money and ship it. He said there was a family crisis though. But for $60 it'll def look good.

Yea, I saw that guy on there. I wasn't sure I wanted to go with that, or if I just wanted to go ahead and make my own line.

So yesterday I went to put the bearings in my tranny at work only to find the bearings don't fit. So today we go to look in to why, all the part numbers were correct. So we ran the vin tag on the tranny, it is a f*cking dx tranny. At some point the ex tranny was replaced with a dx from a 97. I am insanely mad today, but I am just going to deal with it and I ordered the right bearings. We carfaxed the vin, and the car it was pulled from had 176k on it... but I think the trans has been rebuilt, the tech who is doing this with me is one of our head techs and he thought the transmission looked really good when we thought it had 100k on it.

So I am really sick of my car and sick of working on it. Considering just half assing it back together so it is done. I started using the filler on the upper radiator support and smoothing it out. Still have a lot of holes I never welded and quite frankly I don't want to do them. I also painted the engine block and intake manifold. I am no longer going to buy a set of motor mounts, I think I am just going to throw inserts in them and put the torque mounts back on.

That sucks about the tranny, but dont half *** it now.. you've gone pretty far with the build. And made great quality work this far.
You can always just grab a EX tranny later on and just have a simple tranny swap.

Meh, Just take a break or slow down a little. I haven't really done anything with my car recently because I am semi burned out...and I have been driving around with the driver CTR JDM mirror, and the OEM USDM passenger mirror. Too lazy to pull the door panel and swap it out. lol

I look at it as something like video games. yYou play when you want. You'll start getting burnt out once you feel you have to work on the car.

Agree'd. You should never feel like you're "working" on your car. Then its no fun. And this is a project car, its supposed to be fun. Save the "working" for your job and for when your girlfriend's car acts up.

Alright update time. Some people will be MAD at my decision, some will be HAPPY (I think I know who lol). I have decided on selling my car this summer. I'm sick of obd2 bull**** and kind of sick of the car in general, so many of them around and I fell in love with a different car... a Del Sol! We have a Del Sol vtec at school, 6700 miles on it... so clean it is sad to see it stuck at our shop. But today I was working on it (had to remove and reinstall struts and did an alignment) and I decided I REALLY want one now. I always had a soft spot for them, but this one has convinced me I should own one.

Here is my master plan.

1. Finish bay... going to leave it as partial shave and not do every single hole so I don't waste my time.
2. Spray paint engine bay (was originaly going to learn how to use a spray gun but I don't really want to spend the time making it perfect)
3. Put transmission in (new bearings go in tomorrow), paint it, and pair it to the motor with the Competition Clutch.
4. Put the ARP head studs in and the new t belt and headgasket
5. Put stock motor mounts in including the torque mounts
6. Get the harness all tucked, put the interior all back in and battery in the trunk
7. Drive it for a month or so to school and what not, get my fun out of it.
8. Take everything BUT the Blox lca off and put stock suspension back on (upper control arms, springs, struts)
9. Sell the car with everything else on it, hopefully get $3000-$4000 for it.
10. But a Del Sol, preferably white or black and transfer as much of my suspension over as I can (front KYB AGX, Ground Controls, I'll but new rear KYB's for the Sol)
11. Sell all my ek parts... si spoiler, tails, Beaks bar, Blox upper control arms, etc.
12. Enjoy having an obd1 vehicle and something different and a 2 seater

SO here's what has changed in my plan to put my car back together
-Stock motor mounts going back in
-Stock radiator going back in, just ordered a slim fan
-Battery is still going in the back
-Spray painting the engine bay, may just do silver since it'll be easy to paint on and look decent. Was thinking of doing black but I am not so sure on what color I could do that would be attractive to most people as a buyer.

SHOULD I TAKE OUT POWER STEERING? It would make the tuck look really good, but I feel like it may turn a lot of possible buyers away from my car.

^ biased opinion!

Just kidding...sounds good to me, everyone who has a project thread on hcf goes back and forth (the Reaper effect ) with their decisions and plans lol this one sounds cool. I miss my hatch but I do love my truck and, surprisingly, it's really cheap to do suspension mods on my truck which is a plus for me This thing is wayyyyy cheaper than my hatch was (except for the huge gas tank - as compared to the civic )

Anyway back to you Scott lol how did those stickers work out for you? Do you think you could have time to mail me a sticker or two back? Im in no hurry for them just wanting to remind yah I'm back at my dorm so you can mail it to the address on that envelope and I'll get it
