Good work man. You gonna paint the pillars and the pieces that are on the headliner?

I'm doing everything in "stages" I guess you could say. After I do my driver side visor all the fabric stuff is done. I'll have to start painting al the plastic after, but I'm waiting until it warms up to do that. Maybe over spring break, since I can pull all the panels off at once and leave them out without having to drive anywhere.

My only problem I'm thinking ispainting things such as buttons and vents. Either I could buy things like the window controls in the arm rests from an si since they're black, or I could leave some things "accented" grey. Seeing as vents and buttons will be hard to get all of it and still look good. I could get a full si interior ha and not have to paint a thing. For the steering wheel I'll just get an si wheel, black and like $50 with air bag. I figure while I pull the dash I'll change all the bulbs in the climate control and gauges to leds, so it'll be a long process once I get going. I hate taking interior out and putting it back in though. I am going to have to get new clips for EVERYTHING. Is that something I have to go to Honda for? Or should like advanced have them. I need the plastic rivets that are ribbed and the ones that hold the door panels in, I break a lot haha.

Thanks, I painted my tow hook purple and slapped it on. I think it looks good, thinking about painting my next set of rims purple now seeing that the colors look so good together. I knew they went pretty well when I did the vc, but this is better. Either getting Rota gt3's, slips, hx, ls meshies, or the Rotas but Drag's sine they are the same design but different brand.

I went to the junk yard yesterday. We never really get too many Civic or Tegs, but when we do they are stripped real quick. I did get a black ebrake boot as well as a Del Sol valve cover. I was going to take the whole Z6 head, except the vtec solenoid was gone so I didn't grab it. And the Del Sol vc was on an eg coupe. I got the vc for $25, so I'm going to sandblast it then sell it on craigs and make a few bucks. Here it is:

I also met up with a guy and bought his Password:JDM sidemarkers for $35. I'll be putting these in once it warms up. I'm pretty worried to cut my fender though lol.

Alright well I decided to go a different route with the Del Sol valve cover. I completely shaved it, removing the H, Honda, and the assorted random things on the vc (the line by the breather, ssquares around the lip on the bottom). Also, I bought some Quiksteel (awesome stuff btw!) and filled in the bottom left corner where the thing to hold the spark plug wires would go. This thing is cleannnnn and I'm going gold with this. Gold rims are next, so uber matchage! Here's a bunch of pics. Hoping to do sidemarkers in the next few weeks.

Big plans for easter break! Kyb's and Skunk2 springs go on. Also most likely going to be doing a rear disc swap as well as installing a rear gsr sway bar! Can't wait for the insane handling gains from the drop and sway bar.

I've read your diy a few times as well as other sfazn, I'm sure everything will go fine, it is just that first cut ha. I'm off of school and work (5 days of work and 5 days of school = not enough Civic time) not this Monday, but the Monday after and that is when the chopping will take place (I think).

And shaving the valve cover was super easy. At school we have some multi layered sanding discs, basicaly a bunch of pieces of sand paper going in a circle. Keeps it cooler and a better finish. I figured the aluminum would just clog it up the wheel so I used an old one. But to my suprise it didn't clog it at all, thing still worked just as good as it did. It chewed the aluminum pretty quick, just have to watch what you are doing. I did have some low spots but they were easily filled and won't be noticeable.

Shaved vc's aren't common at all by me so I figured I'd be a little different. And the small touch of shaving the little squares and filling the corner are even more different. Although I'm sure most people wouldn't notice (but I know ha). Once it warms up I'll start painting. My purple valve cover sucks, I did a terrible job with it. My prep work was sanding down the big spots, leaving harder to get spots dirty such as between letters. I have little spots chipping on the back, it looks good from far away but I hate when people look under m y hood and see it close. I've sand blasted the other vc's I have so the surface is flawless. I just have to run this one through the parts cleaner a few more times to make sure the sands all out. Will take my time painting this one, going to look sweet.

Going to sell the z6 valve cover too (has the H and says Honda VTEC). That way anyone who wishes to flaunt off their cars vtec and have it labeled on their valve cover.
