I'm looking at cool air intakes and Short Ram Intakes for my Honda Civic DX '96 (Preferably SRI because of our monsoon seasons) and I was wondering whats the best overall that is still below 200? From what I've gathered, buying in intake will never give me more than 10 hp and I dont think 10 hp is worth 200 dollars, so it would be nice if someone could reccomend an intake that is cheap, but doesnt give me any loss in power, a gain would be great too, but I can live without it. I still like the sound and the look. So any help would be great.

If it actually did give you 10 wheel horsepower, it would be well worth $200. That isn't the case though. Try an Injen SRI. I've always liked their intakes better than AEM. You probably won't notice an increase in power until high RPMs, but the sound (I'm assuming that's what you mainly want) will be there.

 

Will I lose low end performance with that SRI? I live in Arizona, so its pretty hot most of the year. I know I'll lose some performance, but will I even notice? I'm not a car fanatic, this is my first car with over 90 hp. and is it possible to buy extra intake tubing and make it a CAI if I dont like the SRI performance? I've heard you can swap a CAI to SRI by just taking it apart.

 

Shouldn't hurt the low end. One reason that I would get the Injen SRI is that if you want a CAI you can just buy the extension.
