Default 98 Civic LX header and exhaust ?'s

Hi guys. I just received my header and muffler in the mail today. I was ecstatic and was eager to see the gains. BUT...... there is one thing i need to know before i do something stupid. Is the Cat Converter together with the Exhaust Manifold? If i just replace the exhaust manifold will I receive the CEL light? Please let me know because i was thinking about installing tomorrow.

P.S i have heard about the debate between Cat vs. No-Cat. Please DO NOT link me to any other threads or say "Google Is Your Friend" and snicker in your chair. I want quality answers non of that half assed ****, ok? thank you

I'm assuming you've read some of my posts... the only problem is I leave links when I say that so you can learn... and it's more of a cackle instead of a snicker..

By exhaust manifold I'm assuming you mean the Header? Since yours is a LX I'm pretty sure it's the same as an EX so the Cat should be after the header instead of built in with the header. If you're just replacing the header you won't receive a CEL.

Are you not going to install a piping after the header? aka a catback or you just throwing on the muffler for noise?

incorrect

LX/DX/CX/HX all have the catalytic converter integrated into the exhaust manifold.

to avoid the CEL you need to convert to EX exhaust (catalytic converter under the car, directly after the header).
if you're gonna be welding the muffler on you should also just have your original catalytic converter cut on the ends and then welded into the exhaust piping right after the header.
you'll also need one of these:

u sure the lx is like the ex, im pretty sure the lx has the cat attached. If so you going to have to convert to and ex cat and exhaust. You will have to extend the o2 sensor also, extension harness can be bought at passwordjdm

EDIT: Sorry for posting the same thing as trust, i guese as he was finishing up his post when i just started lol
