OK, so say id i get.......DC headers made for the EX and find a stock ex exhaust, I should have no problems with the installation and the emissions?
So this would work then right?

it will absolutely work. If you have a good junk yard around, try it. You might find something cheap. What Nail I3unny said was what i've been telling you the whole time(but thanks for the repeat). Go 100% EX.

yes i was basically just quoting what he said and added a +1...agreeing with him. but while you at it...why dont you get an aftermarket exhaust? i dotn know about exhausts...but i know factory headers are actually more expensive than aftermarkets. so i think you should get an EX header, a cat, and an EX exhaust.

EX's were made in sedans
wrong. EX's are coupes and sedans. then the DX is a stripped EX coupe, the LX is a stripped EX sedan. other than that your right. you could get a full exhaust system and it would work cuz the only difference exhaustwise between the EX and LX/DX is cat placement. so if you get an EX header for your LX sedan...you will have to get an EX exhaust too. and itd be a good idea to replace the cat at the same time.

im not sure if tip placement of the exhaust is different...i dotn think it is tho. but if it IS different, you could also get an EX rear bumper for like 200 bucks (make sure its the same color please ) and slap it on there. then youd be all set.
I also have a 98' lx and want to put a header/exhaust system on it. You said that "so if you get an EX header for your LX sedan...you will have to get an EX exhaust too." My question is does it have to be an EX sedan exhaust since the lx is an sedan or will an ex coupe exhaust work also.

i dont think theyre different, but im not sure. just make sure to get an EX exhaust when you get your header because the EX header will change cat placement
