Default Custom Intake

I'm going to do a custom cold-air intake very similar to Vamp here: http://vamp.darkravers.net/DIYBetter...ull#SizeSwitch

I'm going to use PVC pipe and 90 degree couplers just like Vamp, but i noticed when it was all done, he did not have a filter on the end, or an air bypass valve. Are either of these things neccessarry? It seems like because of the location of the end of the intake, an air bypass valve would be neccessarry. Anyone done aynthing like this, or know if either the filter of bypass valve are neccessarry?

um....why? you have an SRI. a homemade CAI with a bypass valve and no filter will probably actually lose power compared to that.
