header/exaust manifold question

RE: header/exaust manifold question
what kinda of engine is it? is it a DX or EX. becasue if the engine is an EX engine the only other thing better than that are the DC sports headers. but if u have an DX engine u can change the DX headers to the EX or DC headers. on my car which is a 96 civic i change the headers to the 98 civicEX but since 99 and 00 are interchangeable any headers from 99 to 00 should fit. im not sure if the 96-98 header should fit. the only problem that i had was IF UR engine is a dx the downpipe is goin to be single or has one opening on the EX/DC header it has two opening goin into 1. sortof like a Y shape.

RE: header/exaust manifold question
It has the catalytic converter in it, and it passes smog, it just doesn't pass the VISUAL portion of smog because the headers aren't "carb exempt". So I need either headers that have the CARB sticker, or a stock exhaust manifold.

RE: header/exaust manifold question
I wanna say you can get any EX header from 92-00, but I'm not 100% sure... I'd say if you're getting a stock manifold, just try your hardest to find a 6th generation manifold. It doesn't make sense that you can't pass the visual portion, though... is it a true DC piece? I'd have thought that they'd weld a plate on there that says 50 state legal or carb exempt... I know there's people in Cali rockin' DC's and passing emissions.
