if you just get custom 2.5" mandrel bend piping connecting your cat to your axel back. that'll make it sound better and give you a good sound.

 

not true.. i have an apc intimadator series axle back.. muffler.. on a bunch of step downs.. it gives me a throaty exhaust.. but then again.. its a 150 dollar muffler...

 

Do you happen to have a DX/LX model? If so its because the cat converter was in the stock header. You are going to have to put in a cat where the test pipe in your exhaust goes. You also might have a leak. Take it to a muffler shop because sometimes you cant put in enough torque while your on your back.

 

Oh, and a heat shield wont make your car louder or quieter.

 

rezinators people!!!!!! thats what you need. just adding pipe will make it sound louder and riceyer. dude get your self a rezinator from ebay and weld it on between the cat and the axel back with matching pipes. then you can thank me later.

 

I got a matrix muffler, 2 1/4 inch exhaust done at a muffler shop w/o the resonator and i still have a deep exhaust note. but i still have the stock header. another thing it can be is your intake. when i got the a.e.m. sri it affected the sound of the exhaust compared to the cheap spectre intake i had on it.

 

no the header WILL drop low tone for high tone... simple cure rezinators. an intake will not turn his car into a rice poper.

 

thanks for all the help, it turns out it was a leak between the cat and the header. i'm uprading to a header back exhaust. i might stick with greddy, the new sp2's came out or skunk 2. either way, thanks again
