I have a 96 civic EX. I drove an 00 Si with the B16A2 the other day and man that intake screams! Is there anything I can do to make mine sound like that, like a different intake manifold or something?

An intake (doesn't have to be a manifold) will help with that, but that B16 has an extra cam on you. Dual cam vtecs actuate the exhaust valves as well when the vtec engages (or is it the intake valves? I forget), anyway more air in/out with the dual cam motors.

What mods have you done to your car?

The new Civics have a resonance chamber that amplifies the vtec engagement.

 

Only engine mods is a short ram intake. So I can't get mine to sound like the Si with my motor? I mean the intake on the Si is so loud I at first thought it had an exhaust.

 

Maybe a Greddy EVO cat-back will give you the sound you are looking for. It has a deep, powerful grumble that should give your ride some beef.

 

you should swap your d16 for a b16

 

put in a Magnaflow hi- flow cat, resignator, and a flowmaster exhaust sounds great, its the set up i have

 

if you really want ur engine to scream, put some cheap performance straight headers on it w/o a convertor and then put a catback magnaflow on it. then your engine will be a monster. plus you'll get a crapload more power.

 

yo, i know what ur talking about. I just installed a short ram intake, cheap pipe with a big *** k&n filter. That intake roars like a muffler as a certain rpm range , and i have a stock muffler
