Just installed intake, couple of q's

Hey i have the exact same setup in my car. Question though, see that blue tube? Is it better for that to be directly connected to the engine (as he has it) or attached to the original metal piping and then the engine? Doesnt that thing get hot?

I haven't had any problems so far, but that's a good point and I'd also like to know the answer

As far as mounting, I ended up jb welding the bracket to the pipe and it's holding quite nicely

my sri in my car came with brackets that have no way to mount on the intake, it just sits in nice and tight. so i really wouldn't worry about unless you would have issues with it moving, or rubbing on the hood.

yeah, like I said above, I just jbwelded a bracket on there and it's holding quite nicely. I still have no clue what that black rubber thing is for though
