What Causes the high pitch sound
Ya i was wondering why some mufflers cause that high pitched bee in a can sound. Does the size of the muffler tip have something to do with it. I always thought that the bigger the muffler tip ie. 4in then the deeper the sound and vice versa. anyone have any information?
well there is the fact that bigger things will have wider vibrations and therefore be lower pitched...but without resonators it wont change significantly. cheapo ebay mufflers dont have resonators because...believe it or not...theyre fairly complex and require a lot of knowlage that..well...most cheap no-name brands dont posess or have the time/will to utilize it.
look up on howstuffworks.com and look at mufflers.

Hey guys... How would something like this sound? http://www.meganracing.com/products/...asp?prodid=300
Just the muffler no catback or anything?
I'm looking for a deep tone, and nothing to loud. Will it sound high pitched and raspy when i step on it?
