I love my job! I have mild ADD...I claim...and my job lets me move around a lot (instead of sitting in an office or something) and fly all over the world. Kind of like now...I'm sitting in a hotel near St. Louis. But Monday I'll be back in N.D. [:@] Had many long 18-20 hour days but in the end it's worth it...just hitting that matress! I don't get much sleep either so I know how those days feel. I don't get paid overtime though! But I do get promoted next month though!!! [sm=happy046.gif]

Ehh I know what you mean.. The semester started 2 weeks ago.. and going to school full time.. 5 days a week. And working close to full time. 35-40 hours...usually 6 days a week. It sucksss. And my school is about an hour away, so I spend 2 hours commuting. [&:] O well...gotta get my education!

O but now my boss is talking about promoting me, to a position that would require full time dedication.. so that would mean I couldnt really go to school... Im debating taking online classes, since it would be a nice pay increase...

Hope you get some rest..and spend that paycheck on something for yourself since you deserve it!
even if you do go to work full-time, take a few classes here and there because if you don't you get blind-sided by the money.

then all of a sudden, you realize you're braincells shut down and you forget stuff you learned in highschool and being motivated to get back into school gets harder and harder *just like me, lol*

I'm gonna start work on my master's this summer through online course, hopefully...

Amanda stay in school, it may not seem like the best choice now but down the road it will help a good bit. Take me as an example, I work my hands to the bone for a pathetic $1000 every 2 weeks which may seem pretty good but not considering the amount of work I have to put in for it.

Dogmeat, so that is why people straight out of college with degree's in their hands are having trouble getting/finding job's? I rather be a tradesmen and get my lisence's because there will ALWAY'S be a need for plumber's, gas fitters, H-VAC worker's and Septic workers, and possably an electrican
LOL..you are singing to the choir...
I am a tradesman and I figure I'm on career #4 The first was flipping burgers, the second was heavy construction, third was a licensed maritime captain, and now stationary engineer (fancy name for jack of all trades). Of those the burger joint paid zip, the construction has ruined my knees, the captain's job was a glorified bus driver on the water. But those three put me through school at night and I did get a degree. You are also right that you probably won't use it (I don't), but it does show that a brain is attached and working. It puts you above the folks without any college degree. As you get older you won't always want to do the physical labor stuff that the trades require, but without education you'll most likely never advance past a supervisory level. You want to be "the man", you have to put forth the effort and get the education. I guess we all have to make our own choices though.

Wow..those were some words of wisdom if you ask me. Its true, you can make money doing labor, without a degree, but without one, you dont have nearly as many options. Right now, for an 18 year old, I have a great job IMO. I get paid good, I get commission, I have full benefits, 20 days off a year paid to do watever I want, and 6 holidays a year paid off. But is this my passion? Not at all. And to be completely honest, if someone told me they wanted to be a banker for the rest of their life, Id call [sm=bs.gif] in a heartbeat. Its good if you can find something youre good at, that you can make decent money doing, and get some kind of degree at the same time.

Civicboy, I know you wanna just get out of highschool and start making money and wat not, but those are supposed to be the best years of your life. They were for me. Live it up having no bills, and minimum responsibility, cause once youre outta highschool, even if you still live at home, all of a sudden its a different world. You HAVE to work. My parents gave me the ultimatum. They would pay for my college, and I could live at home til I was ready to move out, rent/bill free (besides my cell phone, credit cards, and insurance of course). OR I could not go to school, and take a full time position at my work, and if I wanted to live at home I had to pay rent, and a % of the bills. At first I was mad and was like.. Im not gonna pay rent to live at my house, but when I realized they were just trying to do wats best for me. And... Im in school.
