I think that if we're updating the way the DIY section is organized (like Reaper suggested), maybe we should have a section that is purely dedicated to general maintenance, since it seems that having both maintenance and modification threads in the same subforum could cause clutter.

For example, the Coolant Flush, Oil Change, Cabin Air Filter, e-brake adjustment, how to clean IACV, replacing spark plugs, how to use sea foam, etc. DIYs could have their own section, entitled "General Maintenance DIYs". How to check CEL should be stickied at the top of this theoretical section.

I also think that electrical modifications should have their own subforum instead of being mushed into drivetrain. (kill switch, (maybe) grounding wire, etc. DIYs)

I will volunteer to assist with this stuff we've been talking about the past few days.

This, not specifically because of the word DIY, is actually a pretty big problem and needs to be addressed. I can't tell you how many times i've tried to search for something with 3 letters and gotten that stupid message saying I can't search for it. Think about how many parts on cars are abbreviated with 3 letters.

Hey guys, fantastic thread. Umm I can work on organiztion the DIY section tonight. In addition, I REALLY strongly think we need to go out to HT, d-series.org, clubcivic, b20vtec, k20a.org, etc and find DIYs. Copy them (not just the link, although include that at the bottom) and give credit where it's due. Bring them over here, PM the thread link to either Josh (jprommel), Chris (reaper) or me, trent. We will take care of it then.

o and ANY of you can reformat a DIY thread, but once you do so, send it to use via PM (dont create a new thread) and if it is infact better, we will fix it.

Glad to see people jumping in on this. Mods, if you edit the first post, be sure to make it really noticeable like Josh did with the bold text at the end. Maybe throw your initials or name or something so we know who did what, etc. I'm watching the Vikings vs the Saints, but I'll keep working through commercial breaks.

[edit]
Im working on reading the Interior section. Someone needs to check the drivetrain DIY section. A link, smiley, and short quip about what's wrong or right would be nice.

If a mod tried to edit the first post between 6:28 and now, I might have overwritten the changes because I had an edit window open the whole time while I was working on the interior DIYs. Make the changes again if you made any and they're gone now.
