Napa are better than Mobile 1. Mobile 1 makes good oil, but ****ty filters from what I've seen. Some of Hondas OEM filters are or have been in the past really good, and some are crap (namely the ones contracted to Fram). I believe I read that the newest generation of Honda filter (made by Filtech I think) are decent. If I didn't buy that I'd buy Wix or Napa.

I like how everyone chimes in that its not the Fram filter that was bad but the 2 0-rings. Well fram sucks regardless. Go to http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/ to look at really good research on the topic of air and oil filters. My day is 73 years old and has been a mechanic for 50+years---both on the railroad and as a car mechanic. He took about 7 different brands of oil filters he had laying around and cut them all open. He noticed OEM were usually the best and Wix/Napa gold filters next. The fram filters---well lets say he will never buy one or recommend them to anyone--they are garbage paper filters with less filtering capabilities compared to the rest. End of story

^ This guy knows. Look out for part number ending in A02 (can't remember the rest) if looking for an OEM filter. Those are the ones manufactured by Fram.

you or someone else forgot to clean out the old gasket. gotta check these things (well you know now) one of the first things i learned in college
it has nothing to do with fram. it has to do with who changed the filter. i don't know a whole lot about honda (im a newb) but i know about cars and trucks.

i normally use the advance autoparts filter.. its like 3 bux.. its called purolator or something like that. i changed my oil a few days ago and i used one of the higher end fram filters.. it was normally like 10 bux but it was on sale for like 4. im not really worried about using a fram filter.. but it seems as if most of you are pretty adimate about their overall crappyness. so i'll steer away from them.. but i really cant imagine they make THAT big of a difference.
