$1,300 in BC with $500 deductible, driving under a year and still a "New Driver" as they call it here. (I have to drive with a huge green "N" sign on the back of my car)

I'm 19 and I pay about 115 a month sooo $1390. Thats full coverage.

You might be able to find a high-risk insurance company that will cover you for cheaper. I am a woman, over 25 and pay about $190 a month for full coverage on an 03 Civic. (I also have several speeding tickets).
Like someone else suggested, try to get into a driver's program at your school. Maybe after you complete the program you can get a discount for completing a safe driver's school....?

Yea I forgot to mention i already had to take my points test and had one car totalling accident. Looks like I have some of the cheapest insurance though haha
