The law is the law. If he can legally carry a gun, then he can LEGALLY carry a gun. He felt he was being threatned, so he had it with him. In the event that something happened, let the courts deal with it. In NJ only cops/law enforcement can carry conceled weapons. That must be why I dont know what CCW means......even though I can figure it out. We aint got em. If youre not in law enforcement.....you cant carry a conceled weapon, or any for that matter in public. If you havea pistol permit in NJ, you can carry it on your property.....step into the street, and it becomes unlawfull possesion of a weapon.

pete we have a course we can go though to get a weapon permit but it does have its draw backs you can't have your gun at a bar, grocery store or any place that sells beer. and you can't get a permit if you have a felony

Check to make sure that your actions were legal in that state and town. If so, file a report with the police. Check the laws again to see if it's legal for you to carry a tazer at all times. If it is, learn your local laws regarding legal use of force and add one to your daily arsenal. If the guy ever attempts to do anything to you, you'll be WAY more likely to have him by the *****. If you end up having to taze this guy, it will look REALLY good in court that you already had firearms during your first encounter, but bought a tazer afterwards so that you would have less-lethal means of defense if he repeated a threatening encounter.

Also if you have that permit be prepared to catch more crap from the cops and be approached differently (maybe not in all cases...but some) it shows on your license when they run it...so some might be a bit a aggressive I guess?
