So even if we had more of our armed forces here, whether this is their job or not, you don't think things would have been a little bit differently?
i beg to differ

Sorry but the armed forces was not created to assist in domestic situations. That's why the National Guard was created. Leadership all the way around starting from local, state and federal government didn't handle the situation correctly. Everyone was ill prepared to handle the aftermath of this hurricane. However, some victims make the relief effort harder by creating a chaotic environment by looting, raping and killing. I know the media portrays what they want you to see but the fact is that it is happening.
My heart goes out to those who are really trying to survive and not take this as an opportunity to vandalize. In the absence of order, there is disorder. Someone needs to take control and do what is necessary to save the majority. This is truly a disaster but made worst by incompetence of leaders.

Lol just thought I remind everyone. I'm just kidding but seriously I do think relief efforts would be a little better if 3/4 of our armed forces wasnt over in Iraq dying for nothing!

By the way, I want our soldiers home. I have friends there but they are doing what they are trained to do. I pray for their safety as well as the safety of those in NO.
Like Nail I3anny mentioned earlier, I just don't understand why they didn't put city, charter, and school buses to use in evacuating as many as possible to safety. From what has been stated, they had warning in advance and of the storm's magnitude. It seems that absolutely nothing went right through this entire tragedy. Hind sight is 20/20, and coulda, shoulda, woulda... it's just a shame that people had to lose their lives because leaders didn't think ahead. I just pray for all the families in their grief and in their hope for loved ones not yet found.
Well the good news is Michale Brown (FEMA director) is out so someone with experience can take over, course its too little too late, like jake11375 said, 'hindsight is 20/20'... now if we just figure out who appointed an inexperienced man with no qualifications for the job of someone who directs the show after disasters... hmmmmm... guess the S*** don't roll uphill in the white house... i'm gonna take a couple deep breaths and not jump into the whole 'bash bush' thing. Let me just say, that video that started this thread... gives me the chills, many prayers go out to the victims and to the victims of the looters and rapists.
I think you're missing my point Ray. Had those soldiers been here, maybe our leader would have had an easier call on what to do, considering he would have had a lot more options. Don't get me wrong, i'm not trying to stand up for Bush or anything, but i gaurandamntee you things wouldnt have been as bad as they were
